What is GoView.co.uk?

GoView provides Estate Agents with instant online access to high quality, detailed Ordnance Survey maps for use in property details. GoView is a Landmark Information Group service and powered by Promap, the number one mapping site for property professionals in the UK.

What type of maps does GoView provide?

GoView provides 3 Ordnance Survey maps instantly for each property.

1. A detail map based on the 1:1,250 map - accurately depicts the property and building outlines
2. A street map at 1:25,000 scale - shows the property location, street names and places
3. A town map at 1:50,000 scale - identifies the location in relation to the town

The maps are provided electronically in JPEG (or JPG) format. JPEG provides a suitable format for professional printing and use on websites optimised to ensure quality. JPEG is a global standard supported by all major software providers. Map file size can vary but approx 450k.

Where can I use the maps?

The maps are ideal for sales and letting brochures, details and reports; for use in website promotions and property listings plus window displays.

How do I receive the maps?

Once the order has been confirmed the maps will be available instantly to download from GoView and an email will also be sent automatically to you with links to the maps. The speed at which you can save and view the maps will vary from a second to up to 30 seconds dependant on your internet connection speed.

What type of maps does GoView provide?

Maps are based on 1:1250 scale data but are not to scale when produced as a jpeg image.

Do I need a template change to use the maps on my brochures?

GoView maps are provided as Jpeg's and can be inserted into brochures in the same way as photographs. Either directly into your template (e.g. Word document) or uploaded into your Estate Agency software (e.g. Vebra, Reapit, DezRez etc). Therefore, if you have space available a template change may not be necessary.

However, if you want to take full advantage of GoView you may want to make a change to you template so quality mapping takes pride of place on your brochures! Find out how other estate agents are using the GoView maps in their property particulars.

Do I have to pay a subscription fee?

No! GoView is a pay-as-you-go system and registration is free.

Can I measure using GoView?

Yes measuring functionality is now available in GoView! This allows you to gain accurate lengths and areas of properties and gardens.

How accurate are the measurements?

The measurements that you take in GoView are based on the underlying Ordnance Survey data. Ordnance Survey 1:1,250 detailed mapping is the most accurate and up to date available.

How much does it cost and how do I pay for the maps?

View the map on screen = FREE

Activate measuring tool = £1.00 +VAT

For one set of 3 maps = £9.90 +VAT (£11.90+VAT for the Large map option)

With Goview you only pay for the maps you order. You will have an account (that can have multiple users) and will be invoiced on a monthly basis by contact, office, or at organisation level. If your spend is less than £50 in a given month you will be invoiced quarterly.

What area of mapping can I access?

GoView provides access to the whole of mainland Great Britain so you are not limited in anyway.

How many times can I print the maps?

There are no limits to the number of prints you can use so long as your company holds an Ordnance Survey Paper Map Licence.

Can I put the maps on our website or 3rd parties?

Yes. You can add the map images onto your own property particulars or add them to 3rd party property listing websites so long as your company holds an Ordnance Survey Paper Map Licence.

What is a Paper Map Copying Licence?

A simple annual licence issued by the Ordnance Survey which for £54.75 per annum, or less if you are part of a group of offices, will cover all your likely copyright issues regardless of the number of copies. Why do I need EPC graphs?

For houses put on the market after 1 June 2007, any written or electronic particulars must be accompanied by energy and environmental ratings. Agents may provide either the whole Energy Performance Certificate (without the recommendations), or attach just the energy and environmental rating graphs. These can be attached or included with the written particulars.

Where can I use the EPC graphs?

The graphs are FREE and there is no restriction on the use of these images.

How do I register for GoView?

Registration is simple and free. Just complete the online registration form and following a credit check your account will be set up and we will email through your Username for immediate access to GoView.

Does GoView work on Macintosh computers?

Yes!

What are the minimum requirements for using GoView?

• Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 SP1, Windows XP SP1 or Mac OS X
• GoView has been tested on all latest versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera and Safari.
• Internet connection speed 56k or ISDN (Broadband recommended)
• Colour Screen Resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels is recommended

How secure is GoView?

Very. This website requires using a secure connection to protect any sensitive information (e.g. your username and password) that is exchanged between you and the server. The secure connection mechanism is the same as that used when handling on-line credit card payments. When you are using a secure link, you will notice that Internet Explorer displays a small padlock in the status bar, and the website address will begin with https. This is your assurance that all transmitted information will be safe.

Can I also access Promap?

Yes, but not automatically. If you would like access to Promap on the web with your GoView Username and Password simply call our Customer Service team on 0844 844 9950 and they will switch it on. Alternatively, if you are already a Promap CD or web account holder you can also access GoView but you must contact our Customer Service team first.
